A Message from Regional Chair Emil Kolb
This year, the Region of Peel proudly celebrates its 40th anniversary. Back in 1974, Peel was home to 300,000 people. Today, we have grown to become the second largest municipality in Ontario with more than 1.4 million residents and 144,000 businesses.
The Region of Peel strives to deliver services that contribute to the quality of life of our residents. What we do is about people. For forty years, we have touched your lives in many ways - from providing health, social and housing services, collecting garbage, recyclables and yard waste to building and maintaining roads, water and sewer systems.
On behalf of Regional Council, I want to thank all residents in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon for working with us to help shape the services we provide in Peel. As we plan for the future, we will continue to be a relevant, progressive and accountable government that is dedicated to responding to community needs and providing value for taxpayers.
Visit the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) to tour the 40th Anniversary Exhibition dedicated to the rich history and achievements of the Region of Peel. The exhibition is open until Dec. 31, 2014.
