Regional Council approved the 2017 Budget earlier today.
On Thursday December 8, Regional Council approved the 2017 Budget.
The 2017 Budget includes operating investments of $2.2 billion and capital investments of $0.8 billion. It supports both existing service levels and will meet increased service needs.
What increases in services will I experience?
- 22,500 more Accessible Transportation trips
- Two additional ambulances to address 5,500 9-1-1 calls
- 205 additional households assisted with affordable housing from the waitlist
- A subsidy for 2,500 low-income "MiWay" users
- A new youth shelter in Brampton
- Service to 3,550 new households for waste collection and 4,750 new water billing customers
- Additional police staffing to maintain our safe communities
The Budget supports Peel's vision for a Community for Life and to fulfilling the short and long-term goals of our Strategic Plan.
