In addition, as a result of their participation on the Peel Francophone Steering Committee, Children’s Services:
- Hired a Community Engagement Specialist to
co-ordinate Peel Francophone Steering Committee activities,
raise awareness to the broader community about
the committee and its work, and connect
francophone schools and child care to community service providers.
- Funded the printing of the Parent Guide – ‘Child Care Choices in Peel’ ‘Guide des parents pour choisir un service de garde à Peel’ (14 pages, 166KB) booklets in French.
- Co-ordinated and funded the translation of the Raising the Bar in Peel Training Manual. Raising the Bar is a voluntary, peer-based annual accreditation program for licensed child care settings in Peel.
- Works with CDRCP and Community Information Partners Peel to provide the community with an online French language services directory in Peel.
