Early Learning Program in Shelters

  • Children's programs are provided by early childhood outreach workers at Peel Family Shelter, Interim Place North and Interim Place South.

  • These programs provide sensitive care and developmentally appropriate activities for young children of families who are homeless.

  • The program runs for three hours a day at Interim Place North and Interim Place South.

  • Peel Family Shelter provides two three-hour sessions daily.

  • The program is open to children birth to five years of age and can accommodate up to five children at a time.

  • Parents are welcome to participate in the program.

  • Staff have a wide variety of resources available for parents, including services in the community, parenting information and child care options.
