Help for Children with Special Needs

Ways We Can Help You

  • Peel Inclusion Resource Services (PIRS) provides a single point of access to co-ordinated services that help children with special needs from birth to six years participate in licensed child care programs.
  • Families of children with special needs may apply for fee subsidy to help with the costs of the program.

    A non profit, charitable organization which provides support to individuals who have an intellectual disability

    A non profit, charitable organization which provides support to individuals who have an intellectual disability

  • ErinoakKids
    The mission of ErinoakKids is to support children and youth with physical, developmental and communication disabilities. ErinoakKids can link you with:
    • Autism Intervention Services
    • Halton Peel Preschool Speech and Language Program
    • Central West Blind Low Vision Program
    • Central West Infant Hearing Program

  • Peel Children’s Centre
    An accredited children’s mental health agency offering a range of services for children who are experiencing emotional, social and or behavioural difficulties

  • Ontario Foundation for Visually Impaired Children
    The mission of OFVIC is to enable babies and young children who are blind or low-visioned to learn, experience, and live all aspects of a full, productive life

Co-ordinated Information Peel (CIP)
CIP is a no-fee information service in Peel Region for children, families and people with developmental disabilities.  Information is available on types of service, eligibility criteria, locations of agencies, areas served, hours of service and program costs.  Interpreting services are available.
