Child Care SNAP-Peel

SNAP: A central referral service for families and professionals to get resource services within a preschool or child care program.

We Can Help

Child Care SNAP – Peel provides a single point of access to co-ordinated services that help children with special needs from birth to 6 years participate in licensed child care programs.

Services are provided by special needs resourcing agencies working in partnership with licensed child care centres across Peel.

Parents may call Child Care SNAP – Peel directly. Professionals may call on your behalf with your consent. Information will be collected about your current child care program (if applicable), your concerns, and services that your child is or has been involved in. Based on this information, you will be connected to a preschool resource agency.

Our Focus

Families with children with special needs:

  • Up to 6 years
  • Who live in Peel Region
  • Who are in licensed child care, or on a waitlist
  • Who want licensed child care
  • Who need more help to participate in child care

Our Vision

All children and their families can participate in quality inclusive child care services

Services that might be provided by the preschool resourcing agencies include:

  • Identifying your child’s strengths and needs.
  • Suggestions about how to support your child’s development.
  • Help in getting support to meet your child’s need.
  • Help for the staff who care for your child.
  • Help in managing your child’s behaviour.
  • Help in becoming a more effective parent.
  • Transition to school.

All services are confidential and voluntary

There is no charge to the family for special needs resourcing. Early learning program fees still apply.
