Mitigation Funding is a component of the General Operating Fund (GOF). This funding is available to licensed child care providers on a one-time basis to help support unforeseen pressures/costs that impact ongoing viability. Approval of Mitigation Funding requests is subject to the discretion of the Region of Peel and availability of funding at the time of the request.

What are the eligibility requirements for Mitigation Funding?
You must be a licensed child care provider in Peel Region. In addition, eligibility is conditional on your commitment to transition to meet the following requirements by August 1, 2016, if you do not already meet them:
Providers will be required to reimburse the Region of Peel if funding is provided for an occurrence that a provider later receives compensation/funding for (e.g. insurance claim). If your application is for an event that your agency is insured for, please file your insurance claim before applying for this funding. In addition, if you anticipate receiving compensation or funding from any other source please utilize this funding first before applying for Mitigation Funding. Any unused funding shall be returned to the Region.
What are the reporting requirements for a Provider who receives Mitigation Funding?
Providers in receipt of Mitigation Funding will be required to outline how the funds were utilized through a reconciliation process. Additional details regarding the reconciliation process will be available shortly.
In addition, Providers shall submit the following financial reporting to the Region within four (4) months of the Provider’s fiscal year end:
