Cook-housekeeper Assistant
Objective
To assist the Cook-housekeeper staff at Region of Peel Learn.Play.Care. Centres with various kitchen and housekeeping duties
Requirements/Qualifications
- Comfortable working in an environment with children of various ages.
- Enjoy working in a busy environment.
- Have attended an orientation session regarding the Region of Peel, Children’s Services and Volunteer Expectations.
- Completed Criminal Reference Check prior to acceptance as a program volunteer.
- Can provide an up-to-date immunization record prior to volunteering.
Possible responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Attending an orientation as scheduled.
- Assisting with arranging, delivering and retrieving snack and lunch trolleys.
- Washing dishes.
- Wiping down tables and sweeping central area.
- Putting away stock.
- Assisting with kitchen inventory.
- Laundering face cloths and linens.
- Folding and delivering linens to appropriate classrooms.
- Providing a safe and welcoming environment for the children.
- Logging volunteer hours and submit them to the Coordinator, Volunteer and Student Services.
Location
Duties will be carried out at an assigned Region of Peel Learn.Play.Care. Centre.
Commitment for summer students applying for this position:
- Minimum of 40 hours during the months of July and August.
