Priority: Water and Wastewater Capacity

The Issue

Water and wastewater infrastructure and systems are critical for the overall well-being of residents and economic viability of businesses. However, the cost of building, upgrading and repairing water and wastewater infrastructure is quickly moving beyond the municipalities' ability to afford.

A federal long-term, predictable, and sustainable infrastructure fund aiming to improve water treatment facilities will help high growth municipalities like Peel to continue to provide safe and reliable water and wastewater services.

Our Request

The next Federal Government must:

  • Increase the level of coordination and funding for water, wastewater and waste infrastructure
  • Create a specific infrastructure fund to improve water treatment facilities in small urban communities.

During this federal election, talk to your local candidates about how they'll address the water and wastewater infrastructure in Peel.
