I
can't see the picture. What's wrong? |
| |
The
Council stream is audio only. We currently
do not have video cameras in the Council Chamber. |
| |
|
|
What
are the minimum system requirements? |
| |
The
audio stream requires Windows Media Player
version 7 or higher. This version of the player
was first shipped with Windows Me. Compatible
versions are built into Windows XP and Vista.
Upgrades to compatible versions are available
on the Microsoft
website for Windows 98 and 2000. |

|
When
I go to the page, a dialogue box pops up and
asks me to log in. Why? |
| |
It
is most likely that you are listening in a
corporate environment that does not allow
streaming media outside your organization.
If so, please contact your network administrator. |
| |
|
|
I
don't use Windows Media Player. How can I
listen to the stream? |
| |
The
Region of Peel can only broadcast using Windows
Media Encoder at this time. The encoding used
by the Region, Windows Media Audio codec 9.1,
works with Windows Media Player version 7
and higher. |
| |
|
|
I
use a Macintosh computer. What can I do to
listen to the stream? |
| |
A
version of the Windows Media Player for Mac
users is available on the Microsoft
website. |
| |
|
|
I
use a Linux (UNIX etc) computer. What can
I do to listen to the stream? |
| |
There
are at least two players that may be able
to play the stream: MPlayer and XMMS. However,
Regional staff have not tested them and are
unable to support at this time. |
| |
|
|
I
go to the page and the stream starts but then
it stops suddenly, what is happening?
I go to the page and a dialogue pops up that
says that Windows Media Player cannot connect
to the server. What should I do? |
| |
There are several possible
causes:
- Council has gone In
Camera (a part of the meeting is closed
to the public);
- Council is in recess;
- the meeting has adjourned;
or
- there is no meeting
scheduled for the day. Please check the
Meeting
Schedule for upcoming meetings.
Live audio stream is not
operational for these purposes.

|
There's
a hum in the background. How can I get rid
of it? |
| |
This
is caused by the microphone lines in the Council
Chamber. |
| |
|
|
Can
I get a copy of the report discussed at the
meeting? |
| |
