THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF PEEL
BY-LAW NUMBER 29-2000
A by-law to provide for Community Safety Zones on Regional Roads, to designate six (6) Community Safety Zones in the Town of Caledon, and to amend By-law Number 48-94 being a by-law to regulate traffic on roads under the jurisdiction of the Regional Municipality of Peel.
WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation on the 12th May, 1994 passed By-law 48-94 to consolidate the by-laws that regulate traffic on roads under the jurisdiction of the Regional Municipality of Peel and which by-law is hereinafter referred to as "the by-law";
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Municipality of Peel has by resolution passed on the 9th March, 2000, authorized the enactment of a by-law to amend the by-law with respect to providing for Community Safety Zones on Regional Roads and to designate six (6) Community Safety Zones in the Town of Caledon;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:
1. That By-law 48-94 be amended by adding Paragraph (ac) to Subsection 2. (1) as follows:
2. (1) (ac) "community safety zone" means a highway or part(s) of a highway designated as such by by-law of a municipality where traffic fines have been increased for violations committed, and every such highway shall be marked by signs as prescribed in regulations under the Highway Traffic Act.
2. That By-law 48-94 be amended by adding Part 16 – Community Safety Zones as follows:
