WHEREAS Council of the Regional Corporation passed By-law 83-1999 enacting the Regional Municipality of Peel Emergency Measures Plan and Program prepared in accordance with provisions of the Emergency Plans Act, R.S.O. 1990, E.9;

AND WHEREAS By-law 83-1999 was amended by By-law 47-2001 to replace Schedule "A" thereto being the Regional Municipality of Peel Emergency Measures Plan;

AND WHEREAS the Emergency Plans Act has been amended and renamed as the Emergency Management Act, R.S.O. 1990, E.9;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution adopted on January 27th, 2005, authorized that the Regional Municipality of Peel Emergency Measures Plan and Program By-law 83-1999 be amended to refer to By-law 83-1999 as the Emergency Management Program By-law and thereby conform with the Emergency Management Act;

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. That By-law 83-1999 as amended by By-law 47-2001 be further amended by deleting all references therein to an "Emergency Measures" and replacing them with "Emergency Management".

2. That By-law 83-1999 as amended by By-law 47-2001 be further amended by deleting all references to the Emergency Plans Act, R.S.O. 1990 Chapter E.9 and replacing them with the Emergency Management Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter E.9

3. That By-law 83-1999 as amended by By-law 47-2001 be further amended by adding the following:

"That the Chief Administrative Officer is authorized to implement the Emergency Management Program in accordance with the requirements of the Emergency Management Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter E.9"
