WHEREAS sub-section 1 of section 228 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c. 25, states that a municipality shall appoint a clerk;

AND WHEREAS the office of Clerk has become vacant following the resignation of the incumbent;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution passed on the 21st day of January 2010 authorized the appointment of Carol Reid to the office of Clerk and the repeal of by-laws previously enacted for appointments to the office of Clerk and Deputy Clerk;

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. That Carol Reid is appointed to the office of Clerk of The Regional Municipality of Peel, to carry out the duties of the Clerk prescribed by law and to carry out those duties assigned to the Clerk at the remuneration determined from time to time under the policies and procedures applicable to employees of the Regional Corporation.

2. That By-law 5-2003, By-law 60-2008 and By-law 101-2009 are repealed.

3. That this by-law shall come into effect on the 22^nd day of January, 2010.
