THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF PEEL
 
BY-LAW NUMBER 172-2011
 

A by-law to amend By-law 15-2007 titled the “Wastewater System Fees and Charges (Sewer Charge Rates) By-law” and to repeal By-law 10-2011.


WHEREAS, the Council of the Regional Municipality of Peel (“Regional Corporation”), on February 15, 2007 enacted By-law 15-2007 to establish the wastewater system fees and charges (sewer charge rates) in accordance with Schedule A attached thereto;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation on February 24, 2011 enacted By-law 10-2011 to amend By-law 15-2007;

AND WHEREAS the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution adopted on December 15, 2011, and by further resolution adopted on February 23, 2012, authorized the enactment of the By-law herein to further amend By-law 15-2007

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

  1. Schedule A attached to By-law 15-2007 is deleted and replaced with the Schedule A attached hereto.

  2. By-law 10-2011 is hereby repealed.

  3. Despite the repeal of By-law 10-2011 and the amendment of By-law 15-2007 herein, the fees and charges set out in Schedule A to By-law 15-2007, as amended, that were in effect on the day any such fees and charges became payable, shall continue to apply to the fees and charges which became payable prior to the date upon which this by-law comes into effect.

  4. This by-law comes into effect on February 23, 2012.

2012 Wastewater System Fees and Charges (Sewer Charge Rates) by-law

SCHEDULE A
Wastewater System Fees and Charges (Sewer Charge Rates)

The rates set out in section1 below are effective for all accounts rendered from the date this by-law is passed up to and including accounts rendered on March 31,2012. The rates set out in section 2 below are effective for all accounts rendered on or after April 1, 2012.

SECTION 1

1 Unmetered Consumption

A flat rate of $7.87 per month for property owners whose water supply is unmetered.


2 Consumption Rates

Each metered service shall be billed separately. The metered rates shall be as follows:

(a) $6.9564 per ten cubic metres (10m3) metered or
(b) $3.16 per thousand Imperial gallons metered.


SECTION 2

1 Unmetered Consumption

A flat rate of $8.34 per month for property owners whose water supply is unmetered.


2 Consumption Rates

Each metered service shall be billed separately. The metered rates shall be as follows:

(a) $7.3738 per ten cubic metres (10m3) metered or
(b) $3.35 per thousand Imperial gallons metered.
