WHEREAS sub-section 1 of section 228 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c. 25, states that a municipality shall appoint a clerk;

AND WHEREAS, the Office of Clerk will become vacant following the resignation of the incumbent;

AND WHEREAS, the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution passed on the 14th day of June, 2012, authorized the appointment of Kathryn Lockyer to the Office of Clerk and the repeal of By-law 7-2010 previously enacted to appoint a Clerk;

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. That Kathryn Lockyer is appointed to the Office of Clerk of The Regional Municipality of Peel, to carry out the duties of the Clerk prescribed by law and to carry out those duties assigned to the Clerk at the remuneration determined from time to time under the policies and procedures applicable to employees of the Regional Corporation.
   
   
2. That By-law 7-2010 is repealed.
   
   
3. That this by-law shall come into effect on the 7^th day of July, 2012.
