WHEREAS pursuant to the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter E.9 as amended, the Council may pass a by-law formulating or providing for the formulation of an emergency plan governing the provision of necessary services during an emergency and the procedures under and the manner in which employees of the municipality and other persons will respond to the emergency;

AND WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to maintain a comprehensive Emergency Plan and Emergency Management Program for The Regional Municipality of Peel in order to ensure the provision and co-ordination of necessary services in the event of a major emergency or disaster;

AND WHEREAS, the Council of the Regional Corporation has by resolution adopted on the 10^th of December, 2015 authorized the enactment of a by-law to repeal By-law 83-1999 as amended by By-law 52-2008;

NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Regional Corporation enacts as follows:

1. That By-law 83-1999 as amended by By-law 52-2008 be repealed.

2. That the Region of Peel Emergency Plan and the Emergency Management Program provided for under the Plan attached hereto as Schedule "A" to this By-law and forming part of this By-law, is hereby adopted.
