From the Chair and Chief Administrative Officer

We are pleased to present the 2003 Annual Financial Report on behalf of Regional Council, the Executive Management Team and Regional employees. We also congratulate them on their continued success and achievements.

The Region of Peel is celebrating a significant milestone in 2004 as we mark the 30th anniversary of partnership with the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga and the Town of Caledon. Incorporated in 1974 on the principle that certain community and infrastructure services are more cost-effective over a larger geographic area, the Region now serves over one million residents.

In this Report, we provide details of the Region's innovative and successful municipal government practices. Continuous improvement, as a corporate philosophy, allows Regional Council, Executive Management and employees to maximize service and deliver quality programs to our key stakeholders - the people who live and work in Peel.

As we continue to move toward a healthy and prosperous future we will keep our tradition of excellence flourishing.
