Safety Considerations
- Make sure the gym floor/ground is free of any obstructions, and that the floor isn’t wet or slippery.
- Ensure that the groups are spaced apart so that they don’t run into each other.
- Remind students to remain aware of where other groups are while they’re trying to protect the designated student from being tagged.
- Inform students that they are to gently tag one another.
|
Instructions
- Divide the class into groups of four.
- Three students will join hands and form a circle.
- The fourth student will stand outside the circle and be “It.”
- The group will decide who “It” has to tag in the circle of three.
- Once this has been decided, “It” tries to tag that student while the other two try to protect him/her.
- The group can move in any way to protect the player.
- Once the student has been tagged, he/she becomes “It” and a new person becomes the person to be chased.
|
Accommodations/Modifications
- If there are not enough students to create a group of four, have a few groups of five. In this case, there’ll still be one student who is “It,” and four students who are making up the circle.
