Safety Considerations

  • Make sure the gym floor is free of any obstructions.


Instructions

  • Have the students sit in a circle and pop up to stand and do the required action when they can answer “Yes” to the statement posed.
  • Each time a statement is made, change the action. For example, “Pop up and wave if you have lived in more than two houses.” Other actions could include: Clap, snap fingers, take a bow, pound your chest, run in place, raise two arms, etc. 
  • Statement examples:

“Pop up and clap (wave, snap fingers, etc) if you…”

  • …like popcorn.
  • …get dressed on your own.
  • …have brushed your teeth today.
  • …have a sister.
  • …like to swim.


Accommodations/Modifications

  • Allow disabled students to remain sitting or standing and do the actions.
  • Go around the circle and have students come up with their own statements.
