DPA - Sample Games by Division & Location

• Make sure the floor is free of any obstructions.
• Depending on the activities chosen, move the desks to the side so students have more room.

Instructions

• Students can remain in their desks for this activity.
• Say the following commands in whichever order. Students perform the corresponding actions.
• "Principal's coming" = sit in their seats with hands folded and quickly stomp your feet.
• "Recess" = jump up and run on the spot.
• "Rest" = lie down on the floor or crouch.
• "Teacher's coming" = sit in their chair, raise one hand, and keep their feet moving.
• "Forgot my homework" = stand up and run around in a circle on the spot.
• "Field Trip" = sit in their chair and bounce up and down on the seat, pretending that they are riding the school bus.
• Write the actions and commands on the board as a reminder for students.

Accommodations/Modifications

• For hearing impaired students use hand signals that correspond to actions.
• Ask students to come up with their own commands and actions, keeping the command "principal's coming" as a constant.
