Safety Considerations
- Make sure the gym floor is free of obstructions, and that the floor isn't wet or slippery.
|
Instructions
- This activity can be used as a cool down.
- Students mirror the teacher's movements in slow motion.
- Use movements that stretch the body and use various levels of space. For example, stand on tip toes and reach for the sky, or turn to the side and pretend to push open a door - then move arms around and turn to the other side, etc.
|
Accommodations/Modifications
- Instead of using the activity as a cool down, use it as a warm up before another activity. Start with walking on the spot, jogging on the spot, faster movements, etc. Refrain from stretching while bouncing to avoid injuries.
