Safety Considerations
- Make sure the gym floor is free of obstructions, and that the floor isn't wet or slippery.
- Remind students to keep their heads up when running, and watch for students moving in other directions.
|
Instructions
- Begin by having students jog around the gym in the same direction.
- Stand in the centre of the gym and ask a series of "yes" or "no" questions. For example, "Have you ever been skiing?" "Do you like broccoli?" "Can you count to 100?" "Are you wearing anything red?"
- If a student answers "yes" to a question, they must change directions and continue jogging. But if they answer "no," they simply continue jogging in the same direction.
|
Accommodations/Modifications
- Substitute jogging with skipping, hopping, walking, etc.
- For disabled students, substitute running with stationary activities like arm circles, bicep curls, etc.
