Help Your School Take Action - Health Policies and Guidelines

Let's Get This Policy Started!

Who Can Develop Policies?

Only School Boards and individual schools can develop policies. Individual school policies are often the result of specific expressed concerns.

Getting Assistance

Your municipal Public Health professionals can help start the policy process and give you direction and support.

When initiating your policies, involve several school representatives, such as students, teachers, parents and administrators.

Making It Work

Be sure to make your policy well known to the school community. Ensure that it applies to students, student organizations, staff and outside groups involved with your school (e.g., food providers, after school programs, etc.)
