Food and Beverages - Making Healthy Food Accessible

Introducing a Meal Program - Milk Programs

Dairy Farmers of Ontario Elementary School Milk Program

Milk-based beverages are an excellent source of calcium and vitamin D, which are both important for building strong bones and teeth. Children and teenagers need to drink at least 2 cups of milk on a daily basis.

Did You Know?
It's important for students to drink milk-based beverages daily. But only 75% of Grade 7 and 8 students in the Region of Peel drink milk daily, while half drink sweetened beverages every day.

Dairy Farmers of Canada (Ontario) offers milk programs to elementary schools across Ontario. They've been helping schools set up lunchtime milk programs since 1986. For more information on the program or to have a registration form faxed or mailed, call 1-888-730-MILK (6455).
