Reducing the Risk of Food Contamination

Food is easily contaminated with many kinds of bacteria.

You can lessen your risk of food borne illness by following these four simple steps:

  • Clean. Wash your hands and surfaces often.
  • Separate. Don't cross-contaminate foods.
  • Chill. Refrigerate food promptly.
  • Cook. Cook to proper temperatures.

Fightbac's Learning Centre provides information and resources that focus on these four steps.
