Help Parents Take Action - Community Involvement

Buy Local Fresh Food

Take a drive to the country and visit a local farm that sells produce and other food items. Or stroll around your local Farmers Market during the summer and early fall for a fun shopping experience for the whole family.

"Pick Your Own" Fun

Some farms let you "pick your own" fruits and vegetables.

This is great opportunity to help "city" kids understand where food comes from.

By buying locally you'll also:

  • Enjoy fresher fruits and vegetables than those shipped from a distance.
  • Give the local economy a boost.
  • Protect the environment through less packaging and transportation.

Visit GrownInPeel.ca to find farms and see what's in season.
