
The Peel Car Seat Safety Committee began as a sub-committee of the Peel Coalition for Injury Prevention in 1995. Its membership includes:
- Peel Health, Peel Regional Police, St. John Ambulance (Mississauga & Brampton), The Cooperators, Peel Regional Paramedic Services, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, Ontario Provincial Police (Caledon & Port Credit), Safe Kids Canada, and the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario .
The committee’s goal is “to help reduce preventable injuries and deaths among young children in the Region of Peel through education about the correct use and installation of child safety restraints in vehicles.”
