Peel Public Health has many programs to make sure that food is handled safely and to reduce the risk of anyone becoming sick with food-borne illness:

Our public health inspectors check that restaurants, banquet halls, grocery stores and daycares are operated and maintained safely, and meet the standards in the Ontario Food Premises Regulation.
You can check food safety inspection results online at Food Check Peel.
People who work in food premises, such as operators or kitchen staff, can register to take our food handler course.
You can also learn about food safety at home and food safety at restaurants/food premises through our posters, presentations and other online resources, such as our brand new HACCP Training for Food Handlers video.

Report a complaint or food poisoning
To report a food poisoning or complaint about a food premises, please call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700. A Public Health Inspector will investigate. Please keep any leftover suspect food in a refrigerator in case we need to do a lab test.
