Healthy Babies Healthy Children

The Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) program is a home visiting program. The Healthy Babies Healthy Children program is offered to expectant mothers and parents of children who are school age and younger and dealing with challenging or stressful life situations. HBHC provides families with parenting information, support, and connections to community resources to promote optimal child development.

Public Health Nurse – Telephone Support

Whether you’re thinking of having a baby, are pregnant or are caring for a child, the Region of Peel offers information to help you make healthy choices for you and your children.

We offer telephone counselling and information about:

  • Healthy pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Postpartum Mood Disorders and supports
  • Growth and development for children 0-6 years
  • Sleep
  • Feeding your child
  • Keeping your home safe
  • Toilet Learning
  • Child behaviour
  • And many more

Prenatal Classes/Programs

Peel Public Health offers a variety of free prenatal classes to the residents of Peel. These classes are facilitated by a Public Health Nurse. All locations offer free parking.

The Region of Peel-Public Health offers free services to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding:

Fairview Breastfeeding Clinic
Parkways West Plaza (325 Central Pkwy W., Unit 21)

Brampton Breastfeeding Clinic
Bramalea Civic Centre (150 Central Park Dr.)

Meadowvale Breastfeeding Clinic
Meadowvale Town Centre (6975 Meadowvale Town Centre Cir., Unit 3)

Appointments are also available Monday to Friday and can be made by calling the Region of Peel at 905-799-7700.

Public Health Nurse - Telephone Support

Whether you’re a health professional or a parent, you can talk with a Public Health Nurse about any breastfeeding questions or concerns.

Breastfeeding Videos

Instructional videos are available to help you get breastfeeding off to a great start. Learn about breastfeeding in the first hours after birth, how to latch and position baby, milk supply, what to do when baby is sleepy, breasts feel engorged and how to hand express.

Mother-to-Mother Breastfeeding Support

Talk with a mother who has breastfed her own children.  Experienced mothers have volunteered to help you over the phone as often as you need within the first 3 months.  Register online or by phone.
