Playground safety
Playgrounds are places for fun! Children have the opportunity to explore, develop a variety of skills and to interact with other children. However, some playgrounds can be unsafe and children can get hurt.
More than 28,500 children are treated for playground related injuries across Canada each year.
Since 1982, there have been 18 playground deaths in Canada. Children between the ages of five and nine are at an increased risk for injury due to their developmental stage and inability to assess dangerous behaviours.
Check out these playground safety tips to help you keep your child safe in a playground.
