The Breastfeeding Practices in the Region of Peel 2004/2005 report summarizes results of two telephone surveys of new mothers in the Region of Peel. The study was a follow-up to a 2000 survey that was carried out with the primary purpose of determining the breastfeeding initiation and duration rates in Peel. The 2004/05 survey tools were also designed to collect information about breastfeeding initiation rates, duration rates and other breastfeeding practices among new mothers when their child was six months old and again when their child was 12 months old. Demographic information about the mother was also gathered. Survey findings are described throughout the report.
