Communicable Disease Report 1994 - 2003
The Communicable Disease Report 1994-2003
focuses on influenza. Influenza (commonly
known as the flu) is a serious respiratory
infection that causes illness in many people,
as well as hospitalizations and in some
cases death. The 2003/2004 influenza season
had the highest number of cases in the past
nine seasons, possibly due to improved reporting.
As in past years the Communicable Disease
Report 1994-2003 also contains data on other
communicable diseases reported in the Region
of Peel.
