  • According to the 2003 Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS), one out of every 10 seniors living in Peel reported that they had asthma, as diagnosed by a health-care professional.

  • In 2003, Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (COLD) was the third leading cause of emergency department visits among Peel seniors for males and fifth leading cause for females.

  • COLD was the third leading cause of death for female seniors in Peel and the fifth leading cause of death for male seniors in 2001.
