Meningococcal ACYW-135 quadrivalent conjugate (Men ACYW-135) will be offered to grade 7 students starting in the 2009-2010 school year and forward. Students who were in grade 7 in 2008-2009 and earlier, and youth aged 15-19 years remain eligible for the monovalent meningococcal (Men C). Men C is also available for grade 7 students who do want wish to be immunized with Men ACYW-135.
Vaccination is voluntary and strongly recommended by Peel Public Health.
