Wednesday February 22 & Thursday February 23, 2012

This 2-day conference will feature experts in the child development field. Findings will be presented from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) - funded knowledge synthesis: Nurturing the Next Generation that has relevance for public health, prenatal and early child development programming.  Evidence-informed programs and services are critically important in terms of funder accountability, realizing program goals and promoting the health of children and families.

The major objective of the conference will be to provide participants with evidence about what works for whom, under what conditions in three domains of programming: parent education, social connectivity and social marketing.

An important outcome of this conference will be the development of recommendations for future directions in parent, infant and child health programming and strategies for working together for better child health.

Participatory approaches that utilize the learnings from both days will be used to achieve this outcome. It is recommended that the same person attend both Day 1 and Day 2.
