Peel Public Health is exploring population health interventions that will have the most significant impact on early child development.

Public Health Way

Peel Public Health believes that innovative approaches are needed to provide an environment that supports optimal health for all children, particularly from the preconception period to the end of the first year of life. In order for our work to have an impact, we must make decisions that are based on sound research evidence.

The Public Health Way is Peel Public Health’s Governing Philosophy and describes who we are, what we think and what we do as public health. To follow the Public Health Way is to:

  • Focus on priorities
  • Take a population health approach where possible
  • Focus on prevention
  • Balance societal good with individual autonomy
  • Be evidence-based
  • Strive for continuous quality improvement
  • Be publicly accountable
  • Work in partnership
