Peel Public Health
Peel Public Health protects and promotes health, prevents disease, and reduces health disparities through population health approaches.
The Family Health Division of Peel Public Health provides programs and services to improve the health of children in Peel Region. We offer health information during the preconception period, prenatal education, as well as support with breastfeeding and parenting through a variety of programs.
Comprised of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon, Peel Region is a large, growing and culturally diverse community. Peel Region currently has a population of 1.3 million and continues to grow with approximately 17,000 babies being born each year.
In order to support the health of the entire population, leaders realized a need for creative solutions based on solid evidence that can be adapted to fit our local context. Nurturing the Next Generation aims to identify and support these solutions, in accordance with our governing philosophy, the Public Health Way.
