Eat Well as a Family

Eat Well as a FamilyChildren, along with their families, need to eat and choose healthy foods more often. However, this is only one aspect of eating well. How parents feed their kids is just as important.

Advocacy is an effective way to get your voice heard and to take action. Here’s what you can do to advocate for healthy eating:

  • Advocate to your child’s school for a comprehensive nutrition policy
  • Talk to school parent/teacher council about limiting sweets as rewards and use non-food rewards more often
  • Lobby local cafeterias and community centre snack bars to provide healthy choices in addition to fast food items
