The Facts about Childhood Obesity

How Well is my Child Growing?

Parents do their best to raise healthy children. There are some things in our environment and outside of a parent’s control that can affect kids’ habits. If you’re worried about your child’s weight, visit your family doctor.

Regular check-ups with the doctor are important so that your child’s growth can be monitored on a growth chart. If your child’s growth pattern changes, then your doctor might ask about your child’s eating and activity habits.

Your doctor may give you some tips, or refer you to a Registered Dietitian, your local health unit.
