Global Developmental Delay

A developmental delay is simply that -- a significant delay in the process of development.

But it’s not the minor or momentary lags in development that we see in all children at different stages. Rather, this can be a significant delay in the child’s language skills and perception; it can seem like the child’s social, emotional or motor development is lagging. It’s important to get an informed opinion on your child’s development if you have concerns about developmental delay. Without special intervention, the child’s ability to attain normal developmental milestones and educational performance at school could be put at risk.
