Info. On Disabilities

Does my child have a developmental disability?

If you have concerns about your child’s development, PEP-START can help you assess your child and provide you with resources appropriate for his or her needs.

PEP-START is a drop-in clinic for families who are concerned about their child’s development. The clinic assesses children between the ages 0-5. Parents can talk with professionals about:

  • Speech and language
  • Parenting and behaviour
  • Infant development
  • General health
  • Dental health
  • Nutrition.

PEP-START does not diagnosis your child, but they will refer you to professionals if additional assessments are needed (a psychologist, psychiatrist, family doctor, or developmental paediatrician.)

Call PEP-START at: 905-568-8897 or download PEP-START’s information pamphlet (PDF).
