Home Modifications & Personal Equipment
A person with a disability may need specialized equipment or modifications in the home in order to live an independent life. These groups may help you pay for certain home modifications and personal equipment:
Ministry of Health and Long Term Care- Assistive Devices Program
This program provides financial assistance to help Ontario residents with long-term physical disabilities obtain basic, affordable, personalized assistive devices needed for independent living.
Easter Seals Ontario
Provides funding for the purchase of services and special equipment
Easter Seals/ Incontinence Supplies Grant
This grant program supports children and youth with chronic disabilities (physical or developmental) that result in irreversible incontinence or retention problems, requiring them to use incontinence supplies for more than six months .
President’s Choice Children’s Charity
This charity is dedicated to helping children who are physically or developmentally challenged. It provides direct financial assistance in the purchase of expensive mobility equipment, environmental modifications, physical therapy and more.
Jennifer Ashley Foundation
This foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life of chronically and seriously ill children and their families. The child must be under the age of 21, and the family must have exhausted all other means of financial assistance through government or insurance agencies.

Ontario March of Dimes- Assisted Devices Program
The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) helps thousands of Ontarians each year by providing partial funding for the purchase and maintenance of equipment like wheelchairs, walkers, braces, and communication devices.
Government Programs
These government programs help people with disabilities by providing tax credits and financial support.
Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program
This program offers financial assistance to homeowners and landlords to undertake accessibility work to modify dwellings occupied or intended for occupancy by low-income people with disabilities.

Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities
This program helps parents with some of the extra costs of caring for a child who has a severe disability, helping the child live as normal a life as possible at home and in the community.

Special Services At Home
This program helps children with developmental or physical disabilities and adults with a developmental disability to live at home with their families by providing funding on a time-limited basis. With this funding, families can purchase supports and services which they could not normally provide themselves and which are not available elsewhere in the community.
Canada Child Tax Benefits
This is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children under the age of 18. Included within the CCTB is the National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS), a monthly benefit for low-income families with children.
Disability Tax Credit
This credit is limited to people who are blind or have a severe and prolonged mental or physical impairment that restricts their ability to perform the basics of daily living, even with therapy and the use of devices and medication.
Ontario Disability Support Program (adults)
People with disabilities who are 18 years of age and older may be eligible for income support under the Ontario Disability Support Program Act; funded through the Ministry of Community and Social Services.

Ontario Works In Peel (Welfare)
Ontario Works provides jobs, financial and social supports to residents of Peel who need help in attaining an independent and stable role in the community.
