Who We Are

Transitional Aged Youths

(formerly known as Crown Wards)

Transitional Aged Youths are people who have been under the care of the Children’s Aid Society until they reached age 18. At this point, they become clients of Peel Case Management.

The Peel Children’s Aid Society and Peel Case Management work together on the cases of these former “crown wards.” We begin the process of finding a suitable adult placement when the youth is 15 years old so that the upcoming transition is as comfortable and seamless as possible.

At age 18, the youth is discharged from Children's Aid and becomes a client of Peel Case Management. He/she will receive support until he/she is settled in an adult residential setting. Then the person will be discharged by Peel Case Management and the service provider from the residence will assume all case management responsibilities.

For more information visit The Peel Children's Aid Society website.
