Got an extra smoke?
Port Credit Secondary School

Ever heard that plea? Most people have – outside convenience stores, in parking lots, on sidewalks – and often from a young person. But not around Mississauga’s Port Credit Secondary any more.

In this story, you’ll learn how a handful of dedicated students and one staff member worked with Peel Public Health to raise awareness of the issue of youth smoking. They introduced several peer-to-peer health interventions, culminating in a week-long tobacco awareness event, a petition against chewing tobacco and the brilliant Black Angels display.
