For Parents & Teachers

Today’s youth are bombarded with conflicting, and sometimes inaccurate and misleading media messages about sex. Without adequate knowledge of sexuality, children and teens run an increased risk of sexual abuse, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unplanned pregnancies.

While parents play the main role in fostering a healthy attitude toward sexuality, school programs are essential for supplementing sexuality education in the home.

This section features practical advice and information to help teachers and parents provide ongoing, age-appropriate sexuality education to their students and children.
