Sample Letter for Parents
Dear Parents,
Region of Peel–Public Health is promoting a hand hygiene program called “Be a Germ Stopper!” for elementary schools. Over the next while, your child’s teacher will be using lesson plans and activities from the “Be a Germ Stopper!” Teacher Resource Manual. Your child will learn about what he/she can do to decrease the spread of colds, flu and other communicable diseases by proper hand cleaning.
In order for proper hand cleaning to become a habit, children must have support and reinforcement both at home and at their school. Please ask your child about what he/she has learned from “Be a Germ Stopper!” and encourage him/her to regularly practice these habits at home.
Thank you for teaching your child(ren) about the importance of proper hand cleaning. In doing so, you are providing them with skills that will help to keep them healthy!
