    hygiene.
  • Children will learn to name pictures on game cards related to healthy hand
    hygiene.

Materials

Key Messages

  • There are many words associated with healthy hand hygiene.
  • Children should keep hands clean to stay healthy!

Method

  1. This game can be played by two to four people. Prior to starting the game, show the game card pieces to the children. Name each picture before beginning the game. Lay game pieces randomly, face down on a table or on any other firm surface. You may choose to use a few pairs of cards to simplify the game, or all of them to make the game more challenging.
  2. Players take turns turning over two game pieces at a time. If the turned over game pieces match, the player gets to keep the pieces and takes another turn. If they do not match, the player returns them to their face down position, and the next player takes his or her turn.
  3. As pieces are turned over, the teacher is encouraged to identify the picture verbally and should encourage the child to do the same.
  4. The player with the most pieces at the end of the game wins!

Activity

  • Review cards with children to reinforce healthy hand hygiene concepts.
