Public Health Nurses in Schools

Public Health Nurses (PHN) coordinate a range of school health initiatives in schools with a variety of health department staff across The Region of Peel. Using a comprehensive school health framework PHN's help schools identify health issues that affect the school community and work together to develop a comprehensive plan to manage them.

Your PHN can provide support on...

  • Assessing the health needs of an individual class, school or greater school community.
  • Developing of a strategy to address identified health issues.
  • Assisting in carrying out planned activities with school partners using best practices research.
  • Evaluating the success of planned activities.
