The monitoring of maternal and child health measures is important. The Ontario Public Health Standards (2008) outlines the goal of achieving optimal health for mothers and children from the preconception period through pregnancy, infancy and childhood.
In Peel there are a number of maternal and child health issues which have been identified for further investigation and monitoring, including the rate of stillbirth and the lower birth weights observed among infants of immigrant mothers.
This section contains data related to a variety of maternal and child health behaviour and health outcomes.
Please direct any questions to ZZG-Health Status Data.
