Arrow BulletDisease Control: Tuberculosis (TB)

Tuberculosis (TB) is a reportable disease. Peel Health must be notified so appropriate case and contact follow-up is done.

TB never really went away. We controlled it, cured it, and prevented its spread but we have never destroyed it. It is still prevalent in many countries outside of North America. The greatest risk in Peel for developing tuberculosis is having lived in, or traveled to, countries where TB is common.

For more information call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
